How to Use:

As a Casing Layer
Apply only to fully colonized substrate where mycelium is established and primordia or pins are beginning to form. Apply a thin layer ¼–½ inch thick.

In Bulk Substrate
Mix coco coir with other ingredients according to your bulk substrate recipe. Pasteurize or sterilize the mixture after combining ingredients.

Pasteurization (Optional)

Coco coir naturally resists bacterial growth, but some growers prefer pasteurization.

Recommended method:

Steam pasteurization or water bath
180°F for 1–2 hours
After pasteurizing, squeeze out excess water and allow material to cool and dry before use
Latex gloves recommended during handling

Storage

Store coco coir in a cool, dry environment. Because it easily absorbs moisture, keep it in airtight, food-grade containers for best results.
